Petunias
As emblems of love, romance, domesticity, and transience, flowers have long inspired painters with their delicate and intimate beauty and color. The petunia, a favorite of gardeners everywhere, was also a beloved subject of American artist Georgia O’Keeffe, who planted many of these vibrant annuals around her home near Lake George, in upstate New York. She depicted the blooms in a series of paintings, including Petunias (1925), from the collection of the de Young – Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Hand patinaed bronze with enamel and freshwater pearls.
Handmade in the U.S.A.
