Soraya Cedeno brings a sense of fashion and color to unique sustainable materials. She was born in Ecuador. Soraya now uses materials native to Ecuador such as tagua nut, acai berries, and coconut shell in her colorful necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. She works with native artisans in her hometown giving them economic opportunity. The Tagua tree produces several bushels of seed pods a year with up to 100 Tagua nuts per pod. These nuts are then harvested, dried, and crafted into jewelry. This jewelry is not only organic, eco-friendly and sustainable, its creation provides unparalleled economic opportunity to the artisans who produce it.
