This Fordite and sterling silver pendant is a pretty mix of colors. Fordite, also known as Detroit Agate or Motor Agate, is actually old hardened car paint.  The material was formed from the buildup of layers of enamel paint. The paint would harden enough to be cut and polished. The different colors sprayed on vehicles create the beautiful layered effect seen in the material.  The piece of fordite used in this pendant has white, black, gray, and light blue.

This pendant measures approximately 1.5 inches long including the bail (loop for chain on top) by .9 inches wide. Please note that the dime is not included with this pendant but shown to help you gauge the size of this piece of jewelry.

This pendant has a large bail and would work very well with most styles of chains (not included) or would make a great focal bead for your own unique beaded design.

This pendant makes a great gift for anyone who loves cars, unique materials, hot rod lovers, someone looking for a truly unique piece of jewelry, or anyone who loves handcrafted artisan jewelry. This pendant is made from re-purposed paint, so it would be great for anyone eco conscious as well.

The fordite piece in this pendant was hand set in Taxco, Mexico exclusively for our store, Glassando. The city of Taxco is well known for the beautiful handcrafted silver pieces created there. The pendant is stamped on the back with a G for Glassando, and 925 which confirms that the pendant is genuine solid sterling silver.

This brand new pendant comes with our store's original tags and our store's gift box great for giving or storage for years to come.
